Are they exhausting us? The working poor delirium.

Quote: It is our best work that God wants, not the dregs of our exhaustion. I think he must prefer quality to quantity.

George MacDonald

Do you get the feeling of mental exhaustion or being used? Well, you should, because most likely you are. On the entrance to Auschwitz, was a steel sign “Work sets you free” as the Jews entered, they entered in a state of delirium.

Slavery and exploitation are one of the most common crimes in the world and always been sadly. However, is this happening in our modern western culture? If you’re like me and have been a worker and taxpayer for some time, for example a Gen X, you may have noticed a lot of extra challenges have appeared before us than our previous generations.

A lot of this is due to the misperception of wealth obtainment, that if you don’t work, your lazy, a lot of psychology terms are thrown around such as demotivation, not following your dreams, do what you love to succeed.

The reality is that not all of us do what we love but learn to love what we do in order reach our goals, if that isn’t stressful enough, we also pay for our principal place of residence, or some would call it a home at a level that is unprecedented.

Without sliding too much off topic , I have quite deliberately over the years chosen not to invest in property for the very simple reason, I don’t invest in something I don’t trust, just the other day I went to an Ezy mart and went to buy a snickers bar, I decided not to buy it, it looked funny to me the wrapping looked worn and faded, as it had been sitting in the sun for ages, as it turns out it was, the used by date was about 4 months ago.

Property is no different, if the price isn’t right and doesn’t suit your budget or means or the place looks dodgy, and you can’t work with it……. don’t buy it, just like the snickers bar. A purchase is a purchase.

I’m so glad for the choices I have made that I didn’t invest in property but instead saved for retirement and rainy days. Its always good to have cash as your asset, especially in the digital age as your investment value is easily tracked, proven and the govt has a guarantee on it, you will always need income. I learnt this from business studies, however when I speak to execs they always shout property, must have property, I shrug my shoulders, property like anything else goes up and down in value and of course the debt that comes with paying for it, I shudder to think the debt I would be in if I surrendered my position, having said that though, that in itself didn’t come without sacrifices.

What I have observed over the years is the rise of capitalist tax incentives that only support corporations and a higher income bracket, a classic example in Australia would be negative gearing, the whole purpose of NG is to genuinely assist landlords so they can keep land lording and being real businesspeople, not as a tax break investment, as a result of NG being used as a tax break, we have whole heap of investment property owners who aren’t real businesspeople with business and people knowledge and empty properties.

As I work in Brisbane city and walk along the main streets and the rise in homeless people amongst the CBD main streets has risen dramatically over the years, I remember as a kid visiting Brisbane regularly and I can’t remember ever seeing homeless people in the eighties or nineties. As a result of this we are working harder than ever, the only positive is we have the tech to deal with it, AI will prove to be very interesting.

It’s time we started rewarding people who are willing to help communities grow, solve community problems in the form of business and growth grants and payments for individuals not just tax breaks for those who clearly don’t need it, but politicians need donations. What we are seeing today is an ideology of people who are not entrepreneurial in any way but are simply looking for a quick financial fix and go around pretending that they have worked so hard and somehow a business genius.

Having a working poor population who is working their ass off and can’t pay for the basics such as rent, food and utilities is called SLAVERY. Slaves of course suffer from malnutrition, dehydration and of course create great and amazing things from road networks, the White House in Washington and the great pyramids of Egypt.

Working poor or Slavery is what is happening today, right now, we are dehydrating ourselves with slow wage growth not keeping up with cost of living and living in a home. In this dehydration comes our delirium, we need to hydrate ourselves, and demand a better future that embraces the new technology and rewards people who make the effort for our community and with the same hand help the most vulnerable. Our delirium must end, for it is in our delirium when the predator strikes.

Do you make the same mistakes?

Quote: Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character. Albert Einstein

Well if you do, your not the only one! It’s funny how us humans always make the same mistakes and fear the wrong the wrong things.

It is so easy to make a quick assumption about somebody who isn’t a long-term threat to us or appears that way, a good example would be when governments use trickle down economics which is now an actual economic term, to justify tax breaks for wealthy corporations instead of individuals.

Individuals pose a less likely long term threat to presumed economic security than a corporation because a corporation can bring in profits, employ a reasonable amount of people, but how does this on its own guarantee economic security, as I mentioned in my previous blog as the world grows we need to be more sustainable with our developments and general political decision making.

Necessity is the mother of invention. More now than ever we need to come up with innovative ways to make our economies more sustainable to direct growth to a better future for all of us, the environment and conservation, a good example of this would be Bamboo and Hemp plantations that can be harvested time and again because of their quick regrowth and using products such as sunflower oil instead of palm oil which can only come from rainforests, such as Leuser rainforest in Indonesia which is the endangered orangutan capital of the world.

The point I make in this blog post is that time and again we make the same mistakes, we put our own immediate feels and need to be the wealthy without the work, all it takes for a good business to work is a good idea.

We should be creating more sustainable opportunities for everyone, the 21st century has supplied an abundance all it takes is political will, but time and again we go for the QUICK BUCK!

Example, lobbying money from fossil fuel companies to keep and maintain wealth and control over fuel and energy because as I have blogged before renewable energy means giving energy to the people they don’t have to become reliant on a grid system………no power over people’s lives no exuberant profits. The solution is to keep pushing renewables so they are a part of everyday lives such as electric cars and solar, expensive now but price will eventually drop as it becomes easier to make, still making a high profit, like Bill Gates said, once you make your high wealth it’s the same hamburger after that.

Another example is in property investing the tax breaks are huge, buying a property can be a big paperwork headache, but like anything once you do it once then it is easier the next time, the whole purpose of the original tax breaks was to make it easier for people to invest, such as first home owners grant, but clearly property marketers have taken advantage of govt tax breaks and grants.

Again a good idea is needed, something I personally have considered are these tiny sustainable homes, absolutely love seeing the youtube videos, you need to see Tesla’s tiny house stationary or moveable, only a quarter of a normal block, not to mention high rise innovations that allow more light and nature.

We need to give tax cuts to people who are on middle and low incomes and corporations that improve our lives. Click below to see a Stage 3 tax cuts protest.

The ideas are out there, and the political will can be ignited.

Hope Grows

Quote: Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. Desmond Tutu

Hope grows with solutions and ideas not only seeing what you want to see. Not to be consumed with hate & regret which is the very thing which breaks you.

For example, recently I signed a petition for large chain of Australian supermarkets to start providing trolleys to help shoppers with special needs children and making these trolleys more safer. Instead of bad mouthing the supermarket or even protest, these amazing people came up with a solution the supermarket can implement.

The  petition shows examples of trolleys they can use.  https://twitter.com/Ljb2Liam/status/1538447482404843520

Families with special needs children have a huge grocery spend, more spend, more jobs, need to invest money to make money and this is how an economy grows. This is the 21st century the solutions to solve all of our issues are there and new ones being created, the only thing lacking is the correct frame of mind and right motivation.

Having said that, it is also important to be sustainable with our economy as well, for example in New Foundland, Canada, there is a petition to stop overfishing in marine parks, monitoring fishing allows nature to become sustainable so fish can re populate – https://twitter.com/Ljb2Liam/status/1538437086058991616

If you want to keep fish farming, you will need fish to farm, common sense huh? This is where we need to draw the line between a thriving first world economy, common sense and greed.

When corruption rears it’s ugly head and of course the economy becomes more closed off and governments become more inward, closing ranks instead of simply being the lighthouse for the people, again good ideas and bravery are the winner against this oppression.

A twitter moment I came across was amazing stories of Russian families who are protesting against their own governments invasion of Ukraine while they have family themselves who are sergeants in the Russian army actually doing the fighting, they found a way to protest and protect their serving family, absolutely extraordinary https://twitter.com/Ljb2Liam/status/1538461439643774976

At the end of the day we simply need to be that solution or good idea or helping hand in our own way in whichever we can, just like a sea diver simply removing plastic pollution from a baby dolphin, a simple act of kindness went viral on Youtube shorts https://twitter.com/Ljb2Liam/status/1538464243695362048 Again the message of empathy and new beginnings has reached a new height and along with this hope grows.

Truth and Lies – Afghanistan

Quote: “Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter improbable, must be the truth”. Arthur Conan Doyle

What is your version of truth, 20 Year War or a 20-year propaganda campaign?

The reason for such a statement, to put simply….How did a such a primate ill equipped army with pre-Soviet weapons called the Taliban defeat the Afghan govt with a so-called coalition of world assistance WITHOUT the assistance of internal corruption?

As typing this blog. I was in an Australian Qld Greens political zoom meeting listening to good people brainstorming ideas and methods for a better democracy then we paused for lunch and I put on the Empathy & inspiration Spotify playlist and randomly “Strange Fruit” by Andra Day/Billie Holiday came on, click here. Thinking that the threat of oppression isn’t really that far away from one’s own culture if any culture is exempt.

You are only powerless if one believes it. The oppressed have many a victory and they victor due to keeping community and respecting the other with the empathy that is needed. They fail when they put all their faith in a deity or saviour, in this example it seems the USA is that failure.

What’s needed is a proper United Nations peacekeeping force to ensure humanitarian assistance is given to the victims of this attack and find peace in the violence.

The Taliban are full of shit, they are being used by a greater political and corporate interest, for more info on this, see Russell Brands video on how USA weapons distributors profits have soared as a result of this 20 year propaganda war and a Vice news reporter interviewing a Taliban leader holding up a new mobile phone taking a photo of a sheep farmer on trial accused of stealing a sheep, punishable by cutting off his hand. Links below.

An international peacekeeping force is a force of peace. When you persist with empathy and community which is a win win for all, peace then wins, persistence is omnipotent.

Since last blog I have tweeted about Climate Change and petitions shouting for equality and social justice.

Respect Boundaries and the empathy we deserve.

Do you find that we are losing more and more of boundaries or autonomy? Covid hasn’t exactly helped the situation, but as people become more push & shove in their everyday life we lose what Aretha Franklin sang for RESPECT. Aretha was mainly reffering to respect for women, now I find the song is needed as respect for everybody.

People are definitely being used, I justify this by observing how we are continuously being given instruction. Unemployment is at its lowest, so this must mean you should be employed, be brilliant at your job, companies are working very hard to keep you so you should be GRATEFUL!

Sadly this perception doesn’t reflect reality, I have always found in my twenty years or so working in corporations, people who use people are not innovative people, thats why they use people, there only talent is manipulating others.

As a result we miss out on innovating ideas that help all of us prosper instead of just running to the starting gun of leftover 20th century corporate culture, making people feel guilty instead of empowered.

Look at the old rich! How did they become rich? Bet you anything they would have USED people in order to get there, same in politics as well, I don’t belive I need to give any examples regarding politics, the 6’oclock news gives plenty.

We need to fight for a sustainable economy for all us which I talked about in my last blog, however how we fight this by coming up with great ideas that respect people’s boundaries and allow their autonomy and not mess with their minds but allow their creative juices to flow and using the power of empathy, after all thats where all the best ideas come from.

In closing, good examples of respecting boundaries, is understanding that your industry isn’t the only industry, respect the fact that Indigenous people had the land first and if they want to use it for tourism(billion dollar industry) or for sacred reasons etc, they can, just because it doesn’t suit your mining interest, respect boundaries.

Another example is protecting our Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The Great barrier reef is the largest living organism on earth, key word being living, yes tourism is important but so is the right to exist. Nature has just as much right to be here as humans do and again this boundary needs to be respected and if not respected will be fought for and hard.

Sustainability and Protection

Quote: Protecting our environment and natural resources is necessary for both our planet and our economy. Sharice Davids

A sad reality is if we are to make our environment and economy sustainable, we will have to protect it. Since last update there have been some great examples in the Empathy Tweets of how we can protect our environment and economy by being more sustainable in our thinking.

The Climate council has put forward an economic proposal that can bring Australia into a trillon dollar economy which we can use to build our communities.

Sounds great don’t it, so why don’t we get in and do it, because it doesn’t suit the interest of old money and some people don’t have the empathy to look past their own nose, they have the pathetic romance of looking after themselves and putting themselves forward and some look at this as an heroic attribute, its simply selfishness disguised as an affirmation.

Control is the key, renewable energy and sustainable solutions put people in control, think about it without a power grid how can you control people or business unless you break into someone’s home and damage their power source and with having more than one power source brings competition into the marketplace.

In order for things such as renewable energy, sustainable devlopment to happen, we need to fix our political system first, so it is for the people’s needs. Currently govt is a cash grab for the highest bidder taking advantage of an old system that needs modernising.

If we can modernise our democrarcy systems this is a great way to protect our future and make it more sustainable, not only this but by empowering a marketplace that is sustainable thus creating a sustainable economy this in itself can help mould our govt democratic system.

Since last blog I have tweeted about Climate Change and petitions shouting for equality and social justice.

Remembrance and Empathy

Quote: We do not remember days, we remember moments – Ceasare Pavese

The moment the ANZACS landed on the beaches of Gallipoli or charged the front lines of Beersheba on the Australian Lighthorse through to the peacekeeping missions of Vietnam to Middle East. All of these wars, we don’t remember the days per se its more about the moments, be it traumatic or great learning of human behaviour.

Internal conflicts are the hardest, enemy not so clear. Since last update I have come across some other important things to remember and to exercise empathy. When I did the Empathy Tweets broadcast for Easter, I talked about calling on the NT Chief Commissioner to carry out the recommendations made by the Northern Territory Royal Commission instead of taking measures that make it harder for young people to get bail and give police unprecedented powers. You can see the Empathy tweets & Broadcast here https://twitter.com/i/events/1378610072029327360

Fights come in different forms, such as the global fight we are currently waging against COVID 19. There is no country in the world that hasn’t been affected by the pandemic, on the 18th April the Empathy tweets had a blog from UNICEF telling the story of UNICEF Health workers delivering vaccines to people in Kathmandu in Nepal on foot. Empathy Winners(Special VLOG Update)

G day everybody, I’m here streaming from the Gold Coast today, having a little getaway treat for myself after recovering from a fractured ankle.

While I have been recovering I have been giving some serious thought to the Basicozbizinfo Empathy Winners, it’s time now to get serious on this campaign

I’m so excited to start choosing empathy winners not just on Twitter but right across the Basicozbizinfo networks.

First let’s talk about empathy, what does empathy mean to you, let me tell you what it means to me. Having an understanding and respect of how another person feels or at the very least try to understand that feeling.

Basicozbizinfo Empathy Winners are the followers who inspire people to be their best. Basicozbizinfo inspires people to find new beginnings through empathy and opportunity, obviously empathy winners excel at this.

Life is hard, not everybody has had a good beginning and knows the abundance of opportunities that are out there and know how to embrace them.

One thing I have learnt is that you can’t do everything in this life by yourself, you will need the help and empathy of others. You can’t do it, I can’t do it, nobody can do it, everything completely on your own, if you think you can, I’m inclined to say your mistaken or your lying.

Nor would the universe expect us to, this is where Basicozbizinfo and the Empathy Winners comes in. Basicozbizinfo provides the catalogues, the blog, newsletter and new beginnings and opportunities however the Empathy winners make it all more special, without them there is no Basicozbizinfo, so they deserve something special and you can see what special benefits they receive by visiting Empathy TV on the Basicozbizinfo website.

Just on closing there is one thing I want to add. If you are to succeed and not to be disheartened by the challenges you face in life, persistence is omnipotent, a great or unlimited power. I have found this ring true for me on more than a few occasions, people can be very passive aggressive or should I say aggressive, the passive aggressive are still aggressive they are just not stupid enough to do it to your face.

What I am saying is, if you feel you haven’t succeeded in life because your home or family doesn’t meet your reasonable expectations or perhaps your in a job or club where you don’t fit into the culture and you try and try to get people to like you.

Don’t ever feel you have failed, you are simply going along your life path, what one needs to do is ask themselves what is it that makes ME happy and MAKE THAT DREAM OR GOAL HAPPEN with everything you have, every bit of energy you can muster and always make sure, is what I am doing improving and am I improving in some way and run that very race as fast as you can and if you are doing that you have already won against your aggressor.

Remember this. The hungry never get fed.

See you next week for Empathy tweets and enjoy the view.😊

Do you need to rise and reset for 2021?

Quote: “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”. Confucius

To head off into 2021 it must be said, 2020 has been a year where the majority of us were forced to stop, reflect and rise to new challenges. Since last update I have come across some amazing initiatives that deliver empathy and give opportunity to rise and make the lives of those in need and all of us better.

Greenpeace has started to tell Australia’s biggest companies to REenergise and go 100% renewable. The companies they focused on are Woolworths, Coles, Vodafone and Optus. By having these companies go 100% renewable means renewable energy becomes more of a power play in our communities. Greenpeace also ranks Australia’s companies on them leading the way on reaching 100% renewable and which are falling behind. Click here

Access to a decent toilet can prevent disease, reduce gender violence and improve education.

Global Citizen has embarked upon a campaign addressing the Global Sanitation Crisis, reading from the Global Citizen’s website. “Access to a decent toilet can prevent disease, reduce gender-based violence, and improve health and education outcomes for people living in extreme poverty. But, for 2 billion individuals, lack of access to basic sanitation facilities is a reality — while 673 million people are forced to defecate in the open, using everything from street gutters to bushes, bodies of water, and fields.” Click here

Have you let yourself be used?

Quote: “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction. E. F. Schumacher

People use people, all the time, there is no doubt. People use each other for money, as a crutch for emotional needs, people use each other for political reasons as well. So where do we draw the line of when we allow ourselves to be used and when we don’t.

Truthfulness and honesty I find to be a good line in the sand. If people are honest with you the process is a lot easier, but of course you must always ask yourself, what will I get out of this.

What I have learnt over the years is that you need to know what your goals and directions are and simply see if they align with what the user wants to use you for, does it match up? If I do this for somebody else will this help me achieve my goals in some way?

When the answer to these questions are a negative or no longer positive as they once were, its time to move on and get back to your life goals and place them in first gear. All of the decisions you make in your life journey are not a waste of time, you will find there is a reason you chose the path you did.

Once you realise this, things become clear as to who you are and where you need to be and have the faith that your internal compass won’t lead astray.

Since last blog I have tweeted about Climate Change and petitions shouting for equality and social justice.
