What’s Inside Matters!

Refugees

Do YOU think so? I certainly do, what I have seen since last update has been absolutely heartbreaking and not to mention feelings of sadness, then fortitude. Why do certain sections of our society seem to be very quick to judge refugees(people seeking asylum) and immigrants and where does this crazy fear come from? To separate children from parents for sake of politics that does not serve any purpose other than offending people you have a dislike for e.g Lefties, betrays any kind of empathy or political common sense, not too mention business sense.

Like I mentioned in my previous blogs, capitalism is about keeping the existing rich wealthy and the poor poorer, which gets to answering the question, where does this crazy fear come from? People who experience hardship come up with the best ideas, this is common knowledge. These ideas ae progressive and if funded they help others grow and prosper, hence creating more competition for old business and opportunity for everybody else which means people are less dependent on…………..Capitalism(Old Money).

There are so many growing opportunities out there on the internet and in the Basicozbizinfo catalogues and these opportunities are the very thing that is a threat to old ways. Here are some examples of people who have been prevented from seeking these opportunities, single mother from Brisbane, Bernadette Romulo is about to be torn away from her son by the Australian Government and deported to the Philippines. Priya and Nades were settled in Biloela after fleeing torture and suffering in Sri Lanka. Despite the advice of human right organisations on the ground, our current Government has decided that Sri Lanka is now safe. This is why they are trying to force Priya, Nades and their two beautiful young children back to Sri Lanka. As a result at 5am, their home was stormed by armed police and Border Force officers. Their seven month old baby and two and a half-year old daughters were ripped from their beds. Priya and Nades were told they were being taken to a Melbourne detention centre and given ten minutes to pack up their lives. Click here https://twitter.com/Ljb2Liam/status/1010870562971791360

Ali is 63 years old and not expected to live many more months. He is also a member of the persecuted Hazaran minority and has been formally recognised as a refugee, but today he is lying on a bed in an Australian detention centre on Nauru in pain and discomfort dying from lung cancer. He has one incredibly simple request: to come to Australia and receive some relief from the pain and die with some dignity and comfort. In my book, if a person has empathy, a sense and understanding of what others are feeling, then the gate is open and they can come inside, what’s inside matters.

Be the lighthouse

Hump Day Post

Edition 19

No doubt you have heard the very sad and tragic news of the Syrian refugee crisis and debate has exploded as to whether to assist or not, or who is assisting and who isn’t. The numbers are quite staggering and the highest I have seen in my lifetime, I’m sure it is more than Kosovo, East Timor and Vietnam, virtually the evacuation of a nation, worst since World War 2 which is seriously ringing an alarm bell in my mind.

Regarding debate, it’s very annoying that it doesn’t always lead to solution in times like these, the only thing that happens is that people with empathy are the ones who simply help where they can, where those who don’t show empathy such as the Arab nations that aren’t signed to the refugee convention and exercise this so-called right, sit back and do bugger all and yet they are neighbours to the civil war that the refugees are fleeing, what a strange and suspicious situation.

A lighthouse is a fantastic solution to guide ships away from rocks and to guide them to shore and still stands today, a great sign of empathy. Empathy is the beginning of solution finding, therefore I have faith that Syrian refugees will find the shelter they need as so many countries see their plight, even our own conservative government will accept 12,000 I know that doesn’t seem a lot, but believe me for a government that prattles on about stopping the boats blah, it’s quite an achievement.

There is a message for all of us in this and that is it’s important to learn to be a lighthouse for someone else, I’m pretty sure refugees are simply ordinary people like everybody else, they have their culture’s and experiences and what has happened to them is that a network of sociopaths have got their hands on weapons and taken over their country. Be a lighthouse for the people fleeing and shine a light on the direction they need to take to safety and shine a light on the corruption that created the chaos in the first place.

Entitlement and Empathy

Hand

Hump Day Post

Edition 17

Recently in Australia we had our parliament speaker forced to resign due to ridiculous expenses claimed for and paid by the taxpayer ranging from down the road helicopter flights, weddings, fundraisers and overseas trips. Some of these things were extreme but apparently made in the name of helping the Australian people, something for which I can’t see how socializing and networking amongst your own constituents is for the common good. This has been rather embarrassing for the government of the day as its main key policy since election has been that the age of entitlement is over and we the people need to tighten our belts.

So lets talk about entitlement and empathy. Entitlement is defined as a right to a guaranteed benefit such as a tax benefit and empathy is defined as the intellectual identification of experiencing the feelings, thoughts or attitudes of another for example how you might feel about a victim of a serious crime. What somebody is entitled to is open to debate, however what we feel can not be denied. Dare I say we are entitled to what we feel, if we feel our empathy been taken advantage of, then we are entitled to say so.

The purpose of government is to be a lighthouse for the people, to provide services for the population so it can advance, hence Advance Australia Fair. After this is done, then the role of the individual is to improve themselves, it is this empathy that all Australians and I imagine others as well are all entitled too. This is also a great example of entitlement, an entitlement of empathy.

Take care and keep the faith 🙂
